For this Connecticut guesthouse, the local stone clad exterior casually framed by climbing wisteria provides a foil to this fairly formal French bronze wall lantern.  The frosted glass diffuser and scalloped bobeche offer a modern counterpoint to an otherwise traditional structure.  It's all in the details!

I put a lot of energy into thinking about placement...placement of furnishings, of fixtures and fittings, of carefully chosen decorations, and of artwork.  In the case of artwork, too often corners of spaces remain underutilized.  In this client's neutral, textural dining room, two corners of the room are framed by drapery panels that flank French doors leading to a beautiful garden.  This offered the perfect opportunity to arrange landscape photos wrapping the corners and orienting one's eye toward the view.  Perfection!
